Logo Design

for Plumbing and Heating Company

We need to create a simple but «catchy» logo with immediate plumbing and heating associations on a visceral level.

Old Design of the Vehicle
The Old Logo of the Company

The company has an interesting name, «Kobalt». It reminds me of one of the chemical elements — Co[27], and also, there is a color called Cobalt Blue. This color is associated with the water and with the pipes where this water comes to our houses.

Ok, I found the color for the future logo.

I looked at my font's library, trying to inspire some ideas.

I was lucky because I found the font that develops the previous association with the pipes.

I decided to make the letter «L» as a plumber key. So it will build a stronger association with the plumbing. Funny thing — the plumber key also looks like a faucet with a drop of water.

It was more difficult with the heating association. First, I tried to implement the wheel of the pipes.

But all of them look bad from a distance.

Next, I tried to add «fire» and «displays».

But it had the same problem. Except one — simple red «O» looks good.

After discussing with the client and one more revision with the radiator, we decided to keep that one with a red «O».

I also created the black version for the logo so we can use it on a dark background.

The next step is to create business cards for the company.

First, I tried to add all the possible information that will be useful to see. And it is better to show one time than describe it several times. So I placed my questions as notes.

Here is the front of the card:

And here is the back:

For being able to «feel the font», I added an article with two fonts that I suggest:

From all the possible options, we found the best version of the front of the business card.

The client wants to add more text information to the back of the card. I tried to implement it, but it doesn't look right.

I tried to show this information in a more «picture-focused» way.

And after several versions, we got a final design of the backside.

Finally, we have colors, the logo, and the business card with two sides.

And we are ready to move on!
